Shakespeare in the Park: The Taming of the Shrew Opens Next Weekend

Join us again for a romp in the park with a few of Shakespeare’s funniest characters as hobnob theatre co. presents “The Taming of the Shrew” at Preston Park on July 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31.

Several suitors desire the hand of the youngest daughter of the wealthy merchant Baptista, but he won’t let her marry until his older daughter, the shrewish Kate, is married herself. One strong-willed man is up for the task of not only marrying the Shrew, but enjoying a harmonious and loving marriage with her. Will he succeed?

The production this year will again be performed in promenade, but the scenes have all been set just off of the main drive just past the entrance to the park. The walk is very short and should be easily managed by everyone.  Bring a chair and comfortable walking shoes.

Tickets on sale at or at the park beginning one hour prior to show time.
